Sorry but this site is closing down Okay. Well all good things come to an end eventually. Since 1997 this site has been here distributing high quality refrigerator repair information and advice to homeowners and technicians. This area was written and monitored by a working specialist technician. Over these years there has been well over three million readers of the information placed here. The site provided lots of free information but was funded by paid inclusion to read an online book, and the sales of a printed copy of the same book that also included a 2 hour video CD entitled -- The Fridge Doctor Book and Video on CD. There were no links to online appliance parts stores (called affiliations) on purpose, for the simple reason to keep the information here unbiased. However, altruism aside, it seems this model just doesn't work in this environment any longer and I just can't help feeling that I'm running against the grain here. For some reason or another, most web users expect all information on the net to be free of charge, even if it comes from a specialist technician author run site. They would prefer to use peer to peer information, because its more specific? For example if one homeowner owner has posted a notice that a certain model of refrigerator with certain symptoms was successfully repaired by replacing the adaptive defrost module, the reader often thinks that is the solution in his case too. Conveniently, the link to buy the part online is right there too. The author of the site, who doesn't necessarily know a thing about refrigerator repair, just has to host the free forum program and links to the online parts stores. Has the user of the peer to peer site been served well by this specific information? No. Unless in the remove chance he got lucky and the module was the actual problem, he's out nearly $200, he's still no further ahead after all the work he's done, and... his refrigerator problem still exists! Alternately, for just $10 to read my online book and probably less than 1/2 hour of his time to test a few things, he would have known exactly what the problem was and then would have had explicit instructions on how to properly repair it -- sometimes not needing a part at all! Does Google and the other search engines give higher precedence to book based information? No. Since peer to peer information is more current, has higher volume, and the same search words you are looking for are used within the text, it ranks higher! You can well imagine my frustration. So enough of my ranting.......... I would just like to thank all my customers and everyone that has supported my efforts here over the years. Its been a wonderful and enlightening experience. My apologizes if you came here trying to find information that I can no longer rationally provide. Sincerely Clarence W. Yuzik c/o fridgedoctor.com Please note: If you still have time left on your password protected online access. These pages won't be taken down until all current users time has expired. In these cases, for these final users I will still be available here to answer any of your technical questions and willing to help out in any way I can with your particular problem.
